Oils and other ingredients
Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense contains a lot of natural oils – seven oils, which seems quite reasonable when we consider the high price. Sunflower oil and olive oil are two main components. These are the most popular oils which work perfectly on almost all hair types. There is also precious jojoba oil included and coconut oil which shouldn’t be in the product (it is very cheap and more suitable for low porosity hair).
Interesting fact – Camelina sativa oil, called camelina or gold-of-pleasure, which contains 45% of omega-3 fatty acids. It perfectly fits in the structure of damaged high porosity hair. There are also coriander oil and apricot oil as well as several emollients which create a protective layer and lock in moisture and prevent loss of valuable nutritional ingredients. The formula is free from silicones and other artificial substances.
Repairing damaged hair
How does Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense work? Intensively and from the inside. Redken Diamond Oils excellently penetrate inside the hair – to the deepest layers. As a result, the repair begins inside. Your hair gets strong and resilient. Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense also seals external layer of hair, which prevents frizz and protects from damage.
Apart from the internal repair, the seven oils make your hair look better. Healthy hair is soft, shiny and easier to style. Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense adds tridimensional shine. The oil makes your strands more beautiful and much easier to style.
Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense costs a lot. It is reflected even in the bottle with a black, very precise dropper. You can easily dose 2-3 drops which is enough for one application. You apply Redken Diamond Oil to dry or damp hair from the mid-lengths; remember about hair ends. Unfortunately, the oil is unsuitable for oiling the scalp.
Sadly, Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense is expensive. It is one of the most expensive among commercially available hair oils. The price isn’t adequate to the quality. It looks really fancy – black glass vial probably boosts the price. We expect much more for such a price. Even the fragrance isn’t pleasurable.
What are the disadvantages of the product?
- a very high price, inadequate to the action
- a heavy bottle isn’t handy
- coconut oil which is unsuitable for high porosity hair
- formula which is unsuitable for oiling the scalp
- too intense, suffocating and unpleasant fragrance
